Due to his remotely human-like features and because he is a symbol of the most evasive and wildest fauna as well as one of the most uncommon and endangered species of the Iberian fauna, the brown bear has become one of the most appreciated species and one that both administrations and conservationist organisations have made greater effort to protect. The Brown Bear Foundation (FOP), created in 1992, has been working all these years with a singular objective: the study and preservation of the Cantabrian brown bear and the protection of its natural and rural environment in the Cantabrian mountain range.
This book is a compleyte update for the popularization of the existing khowledge of this emblematic animal´s biology and ecology, as well as his preservation. It is also an exceptional graphic document, since, thanks to Andoni Canela´s extraordinary photographs, many ecological aspects and private scenes of the life of our Cantabrian bears are shown here as never before.
